What you will do

• Design and implement roadmap features for the Merchantware Gateway to high technical standards.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Develop secure, scalable, and reliable backend services using C# .NET.
• Improve engineering practices, development tools, and CI/CD pipelines through hands-on implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers through consistent code reviews and pairing.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues to maintain platform resilience.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in server-side development within a Windows C# .NET environment.
• Experience designing scalable web services and working with relational databases (SQL Server).
• Expertise in test automation, including unit testing and BDD/SpecFlow.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent full-time basis and residence within 1 hour commute to Belfast.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of payment processing or PCI standards.
• Experience with software usability, system architecture, or information security.
