What you will do

• Execute visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on complex machined and additively manufactured components using advanced metrology tools.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to develop and apply robust inspection strategies.
• Define and refine inspection methodologies for additive-to-machined transitions and complex geometries.
• Document and escalate non-conformances in compliance with AS9102 and internal quality procedures.
• Mentor inspectors, machinists, and engineers in blueprint interpretation and metrology best practices.
• Author and update SOPs and inspection standards in partnership with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in high-precision manufacturing (aerospace, defense, or automotive).
• Demonstrated mastery of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and real-world application of inspection techniques.
• Expert proficiency in selecting and using metrology tools based on part geometry and tolerances.
• Experience with AS9102 FAI documentation, NCRs, and quality system protocols.
• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with non-contact metrology systems (laser scanners, structured light).
• Working knowledge of QMS standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• Experience with additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and prototype-to-production transitions.
• Proficiency with digital tools like NX or Teamcenter PLM/CAD systems.
