Salary: $158,000 — $193,000 USD

What you will do

  • Manage 3-5 technical writer direct reports, overseeing day-to-day operations and career growth.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to create and maintain documentation for users, developers, and SREs.
  • Research technical details by experimenting with the product and digging into source code.
  • Collaborate with the contributor community to develop and improve documentation standards and processes.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience researching and developing technical documentation (databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure).
  • 2-5 years of experience managing a team of technical writers.
  • Ability to read at least two programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, Go, Bash).
  • Experience with documentation-as-code, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Must be based in the USA (specifically CA, CO, IL, NY, or WA).
  • Publicly available technical writing samples.
