Technical Writer (SaaS)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Chicago city limits are excluded unless the candidate is willing to self-relocate.

Salary: $85,000–$95,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do

• Create product documentation and release notes for the SaaS product suite.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and subject matter experts to document new features and updates.
• Develop and maintain customer-facing knowledge-base content across ticketing, billing, IT asset management, vulnerability management, security integrations, identity and access management, public APIs, and endpoint management.
• Coordinate documentation translations with the Localization team.
• Audit existing content for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Improve documentation processes in line with Knowledge-Centered Service practices and release deadlines.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in a corporate technical writing role.
• Experience writing customer-facing documentation for SaaS products.
• Experience documenting or working with enterprise IT management software, including endpoint management, security integrations, or RMM solutions.
• Experience with formal content standards or editorial style guides and software release documentation.
• Comfort working with HTML and web-based content management systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Knowledge-Centered Service or another knowledge management methodology.
• Experience writing for a global audience and supporting translation quality.
