What you will do

• Lead the design and deployment of evaluation approaches for state-of-the-art multimodal world models and generative systems.
• Architect and implement scalable machine learning pipelines for tuning and deploying large-scale discriminator models.
• Evaluate video generation techniques to measure realism, temporal stability, and multi-modal consistency.
• Apply vision language models to assess semantic understanding and controllability within simulation products.
• Collaborate with Alphabet and Waymo research teams to integrate 4D world modeling into production.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on system architecture and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ML engineering or applied deep learning with a portfolio of shipped products or publications.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as Jax, Flax, or PyTorch.
• Experience designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for complex ML models.
• Must be able to work onsite in Mountain View, California.

Nice to have

• Experience training large-scale generative models (diffusion, flow matching, VLMs).
• PhD focusing on 3D generative models, world models, or video generation.
• Experience simulating camera, lidar, and radar sensor data.
• Background in autonomous systems, robotics software, or AV simulations.
• Experience optimizing large-scale models on GPU/TPU clusters.
• Professional experience with C++ for high-performance production systems.
