What you will do
- Own and evolve the system-level architecture of a Windows-based IVD software product deployed to customer environments.
- Design and support product deployments using IIS, SQL Server, WSL, and Docker across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments.
- Lead deep root-cause analysis of complex issues spanning application behavior, operating systems, databases, and infrastructure.
- Partner with software engineering to identify non-obvious system dependencies, scalability limits, and operational risks.
- Develop automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python to increase consistency and reduce manual configuration.
- Ensure all system designs and documentation meet IVD regulatory and quality expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6–7+ years of experience supporting commercial product software.
- Deep hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, IIS, and SQL Server in production.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux systems and Docker containerized deployments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM).
- Must be based in or able to work in South San Francisco, CA (Hybrid).
Nice to have
- Direct experience supporting IVD, medical device, or other regulated software products.
- Exposure to container orchestration platforms such as ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure as code or configuration management tools.
- Background in regulated environments with awareness of compliance and audit expectations.
