Project Manager (Payments)

What you will do

• Lead merchant migration programmes from third-party acquirers to the VMS PayFac platform.
• Manage reseller and software partner onboarding, integrations, launch readiness, and stakeholder coordination.
• Deliver compliance and regulatory initiatives, including FCA audit readiness, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, PCI, safeguarding, and operational risk improvements.
• Coordinate integrations with payment gateways, terminal providers, acquiring partners, and other payment technology vendors.
• Lead projects covering settlement, reconciliation, transaction monitoring, merchant onboarding, underwriting, payment operations, reporting, and new payment capabilities.
• Maintain project plans, RAID logs, implementation documentation, risk mitigation plans, and stakeholder reporting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience in payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, PayFac, or regulated financial services.
• Strong knowledge of merchant acquiring, payment processing, KYC/KYB, AML, settlement, reconciliation, payment operations, card schemes, and regulatory environments.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional projects across technical, operational, compliance, and commercial workstreams.
• Strong organisation, programme management, documentation, reporting, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, solve problems proactively, and remain structured under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment gateways, acquiring banks, or embedded payment platforms.
• Experience supporting go-to-market launches or partner enablement initiatives.
