TL;DR

Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Automotive): Designing and developing low-level embedded hardware input/output (HWIO) software for microcontrollers within the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) strategy with an accent on portable and scalable low-level drivers. Focus on implementing RTOS, power management, and communication protocols like LIN while ensuring compliance with AUTOSAR MCAL and GM coding standards.

Location: Hybrid: Must report to Milford, Michigan at least three times per week

What you will do

• Design, develop, and test low-level embedded software for RTOS, Memory, Power Management, LIN, DMA, PWM, and I/O.
• Utilize MCAL configuration tools and hand-code software solutions in C.
• Define and execute robust testing strategies to verify compliance with technical requirements.
• Perform independent code reviews and collaborate with hardware, calibration, and requirements groups.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and thoroughly document designs and test results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development (Embedded C).
• Expertise in AUTOSAR MCAL configuration and Complex Driver development.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ARM, PowerPC, Renesas) and RTOS for multi-core systems.
• Strong understanding of schematics, basic electrical circuits, and proficiency with debugging tools like Lauterbach and CANalyzer.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-R52, ARM Cortex-M7, or NXP S32Kxx microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
