What you will do

• Architect and maintain custom Gutenberg plugins and React editor components tailored for enterprise newsroom workflows.
• Design performant API endpoints and optimize database queries for high-traffic media platforms.
• Integrate AI-enabled workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for testing, refactoring, and documentation to drive development velocity.
• Collaborate with product and editorial teams to translate complex business needs into production-ready technical specifications.
• Champion best practices in unit, integration, and E2E testing, as well as CI/CD and performance engineering.
• Conduct comprehensive peer reviews and maintain rigorous documentation standards.

Requirements

• Advanced expertise in WordPress, Gutenberg block editor, hook system, and REST API.
• Advanced proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6), and React for complex state management.
• Extensive experience with custom WordPress plugin and block development.
• Proven ability to use and integrate AI tools for contextual refactoring, test scaffolding, and documentation.
• Experience with dependency management tools like Composer and NPM/Yarn.
• Must be located in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Ecuador.

Nice to have

• Understanding of Prompt Engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and vector databases.
• Experience with headless WordPress architectures.
• Proficiency in testing frameworks such as Jest, PHPUnit, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
