Description

The platform is already live in market, with paying customers, recurring SaaS revenue, real clinical workflows, insurer integrations, and structured healthcare data operating at scale. We are ISO 27001:2022 certified and Healthcode integrated.

The company was founded by a former surgeon with a PhD in Big Data from Imperial College London. We are now entering our next phase of growth, expanding across UK private healthcare and into broader enterprise and agentic AI opportunities in the UK and Europe.

This is an early-stage company with a real product, real users, and real commercial traction. As a key internal technical leader, the person who joins will help shape how the company operates, not simply move Jira tickets.

The Role

We are looking for a highly capable Founding Full Stack Engineer / Technical Lead to work directly with the founders and our existing development team.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, product thinking, and company-building. You will help translate commercial priorities into technical delivery, guide architectural decisions, contribute directly to the codebase, and help define the engineering culture as the company scales.

The product, infrastructure, customers, roadmap, and engineering team already exist. Your role is to help scale, refine, and strategically evolve the platform during an important growth phase.

For the right person, there is a genuine pathway for this role to evolve into a long-term senior leadership position, with potential for formal Co-Founder designation if the role, contribution level, and company milestones justify it.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

Technical leadership and delivery

You will coordinate the existing small, focused engineering team, help prioritise engineering work, review technical decisions, and ensure that delivery remains high quality, commercially aligned, and pragmatic.

Hands-on engineering

This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to write code, review code, troubleshoot issues, support implementation decisions, and remain close to the technical detail of the product.

Architecture and scalability

You will help shape the architecture of the platform as it scales, including application design, infrastructure, security, performance, reliability, and AWS-based cloud decisions.

Founder collaboration

You will work closely with the founders on a day-to-day basis, translating commercial, operational, clinical, and customer requirements into clear technical priorities.

Product and user engagement

You will be comfortable engaging directly with end-users, understanding real clinical workflows, and using that insight to inform better product and technical decisions.

Engineering standards

You will help define engineering standards, testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes that form the foundations of a scalable engineering function.

Nice to have

Relevant experience may include:

• React frontend frameworks

• Node.js, Nest.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or comparable backend technologies

• PostgreSQL or relational databases

• AWS cloud infrastructure

• SaaS architecture

• APIs and third-party integrations (HL7/FHIR or interoperability experience desirable but not essential)

• DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and cloud security

• AI, LLM integrations, workflow automation, or data-driven products

We do not expect one person to be an expert in everything, but we are looking for someone technically strong enough to lead across the stack and make sound architectural decisions.

Perks

Compensation and Growth

• Base salary: € 45,000 – € 50,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience)

• Equity: Meaningful founding-team equity, subject to vesting

• Review: Structured salary, title, and equity review at 12 months or following the next funding milestone

• Trajectory: Clear pathway toward a long-term senior leadership role, with potential for formal Co-Founder designation if the right milestones and contribution level are achieved

• Location: Fully remote, based in the UK or Portugal

• Working pattern: Standard UK working hours with reasonable flexibility
