What you will do

• Develop HAMR sputter processes to improve media performance and meet product timelines.
• Design experiments to analyze process windows and margins.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve alloy and process-related defect issues.
• Transfer new product processes into mass production while ensuring customer requirements are met.
• Provide technical leadership for sputter projects and drive innovation.
• Apply knowledge of recording physics to optimize media manufacturing.

Requirements

• Master or Ph.D. degree in Material Science, Magnetic Recording Physics, or related engineering disciplines.
• Strong understanding of magnetic recording materials, thin film technology, and sputter processes.
• Experience with process DOE, magnetic characterization tools, and data analysis.
• Proven ability to drive technical innovation into rapid product solutions.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
• Proficiency in English speaking and writing.
