What you will do

• Architect, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances including Azure SQL Database.
• Lead performance engineering initiatives by analyzing execution plans and optimizing complex queries.
• Design and validate robust backup, recovery, and HA/DR strategies.
• Govern database security through role-based access controls and encryption.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell and SQL Agent.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for critical database incidents and outages.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in mission-critical production environments.
• Expert proficiency with SQL Server 2019/2025 and Windows Server 2019/2022.
• Advanced T-SQL skills including partitioning and performance troubleshooting.
• Deep expertise in Always On Availability Groups and WSFC.
• Strong command of Wait Statistics, DMVs, and Extended Events.
• Must be based in Egypt for this remote role.

Nice to have

• Microsoft DP-300 certification.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or hybrid cloud configurations.
• Proficiency with APM tools like Dynatrace or New Relic.
• Experience with database automation tools like dbatools or CI/CD pipelines.
