TL;DR
Junior IT Security Engineer (NIST/IT Security): Delivering Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support and managing company-wide security posture with an accent on MDM administration, identity management, and NIST compliance. Focus on triaging security events, automating onboarding/offboarding, and implementing technical security controls for government-grade environments.
Location: Remote (United States). U.S. Citizenship is strictly required.

What you will do
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for users, resolving issues or escalating them as appropriate.
- Provision user laptops and administer a company-wide Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution.
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding via Google Admin Console and maintain IT asset inventory.
- Conduct Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) reviews and security research.
- Support the technical implementation of security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-171, including SIEM and logging.
- Perform triage of security events, log audits, and incident response processes.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required; must be eligible for CUI access.
- Experience in an IT help desk, system administration, or IT operations role.
- Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, and GitHub.
- Experience administering macOS, Windows, or Linux.
- Experience with Google Admin Console or similar directory/identity management tools.
Nice to have
- Experience as a defense contractor or in government IT.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, or CMMC 2.0 frameworks.
- Experience supporting security tooling such as SIEM platforms or MDM solutions.
