Staff Software Engineer (Guarded Containers)

Base salary: $205,000–$231,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Architect and drive major product features and services for hirify.global Images.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to shape the roadmap and scope high-impact initiatives.
• Set technical direction and make architectural decisions balancing customer impact, scalability, and maintainability.
• Lead complex cross-cutting projects from concept through production across multiple engineers or teams.
• Mentor engineers, raise technical standards, and model strong design and delivery practices.
• Improve the tools and services supporting the image build system so the platform scales with new capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, compilers, Makefiles, and toolchains.
• Deep expertise with containers, container registries, Docker, Kubernetes, and the surrounding ecosystem.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools, including reusable modules at scale.
• Strong experience writing services or tools in Go.
• Excellent English communication, autonomy, stakeholder alignment, initiative, and engineering mentorship skills.

• Authorship of or contributions to open-source projects.
