What you will do

• Design and develop high-quality software architecture for applications on the mainframe platform.
• Produce, test, and debug functional software solutions to modernize enterprise products.
• Collaborate with product management and engineers in an Agile environment to define requirements.
• Automate tasks through scripting and appropriate tools to increase operational efficiency.
• Lead major initiatives and projects, setting long-range technical direction.
• Mentor and coach other software engineers to guide their professional growth.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in IBM Assembler Language (HLASM) and z/OS Operating system.
• Proficiency in Metal C (or PL/X) and JCL.
• Experience with source control systems like Endevor or ISPW.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills.
• Must be able to work onsite in San Jose, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with CA 1 Flexible Storage, Vtape, DASD, DFSMS, and other mainframe storage products.
• Experience with online z/OS debuggers such as XDC or SLD.
• Proficiency in various scripting languages.
• Experience in developing authorized code.
