What you will do

• Design, build, and operate production microservices on AWS and Kubernetes that serve as the foundation for the Extend developer ecosystem.
• Own services end-to-end, from initial design and implementation through production reliability and incident response.
• Collaborate with product owners and designers to deliver high-quality software for the growing developer community.
• Build frontend interfaces using modern frameworks to deliver complete, production-ready features.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure efficiency and costs across large-scale AWS and GCP deployments.
• Integrate AI capabilities and apply Responsible AI principles to build scalable software solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience focusing on scalable, high-availability distributed backend systems.
• 8+ years of experience with Java or Go using object-oriented or functional design.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, MySQL) and Kubernetes/Docker.
• 2+ years of full-stack experience with modern frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and modern architectural standards like Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid model in Atlanta, GA (50% office presence).

Nice to have

• Experience building and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines and automated E2E testing frameworks.
• Proficiency in cloud-native monitoring and observability tools.
• Proven track record of partnering with UX designers to refine complex feature requirements.
