What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate distributed, scalable, and secure full-stack cloud services at petabyte scale.
• Build accessible user interfaces, backend services, and data pipelines for customer impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to build AI-powered legal data solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and guide incident response.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship through design and code reviews.
• Drive service ownership by leading reliability efforts and participating in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and operating cloud-native systems and distributed architectures.
• Must be based in the US (Illinois) to support the hybrid/remote work format.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
• Demonstrated ability to own complex solutions end-to-end and mentor other engineers.
• A strong background in AI agentic coding or a strong eagerness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience building full-stack systems at scale.
• Familiarity with performance tuning and scalability trade-offs.
• Experience working in high-scale or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with AI-development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
