What you will do

• Manage and coach a distributed team of approximately 30 engineers through 1:1s and career development planning.
• Own the full hiring lifecycle, including role definition, interviewing, and onboarding of new engineers.
• Oversee software delivery in an Agile environment, collaborating with Product Management, Design, and DevOps.
• Define system architecture and provide technical guidance through code reviews and occasional hands-on coding.
• Champion the adoption of generative AI tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to optimize engineering workflows.
• Balance team capacity and delivery commitments while maintaining sustainable workloads.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams in remote/distributed environments.
• Deep expertise with AWS and its native services.
• Proven experience working within Agile SDLC processes alongside Product and Operations teams.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI coding assistants into real-world development workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
• Must be based in Europe or South America.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript and React.
• Knowledge of MSSQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with scheduling systems or mobile application development.
• Expertise in prompt engineering or LLM-based automation for team workflows.
