Senior Staff AI Data Engineer (Insurance)

Senior Staff AI Data Engineer (AI/Data Engineering): Leading the development of AI data pipelines and RAG architectures to support agentic solutions in the insurance domain with an accent on scalable batch/streaming pipelines and unstructured data integration. Focus on designing production-grade GenAI foundations, optimizing vector/graph databases, and ensuring the reliability and governance of enterprise-scale AI data systems.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in or able to commute to Hartford, CT; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; or Charlotte, NC (3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday).

What you will do

• Lead the implementation of AI data pipelines integrating structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data for RAG and agentic solutions.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable batch and real-time streaming data pipelines using technologies such as Snowpipe.
• Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures integrated with enterprise data platforms.
• Develop and integrate graph database solutions to support complex data relationships within AI systems.
• Drive engineering discipline across platforms, focusing on observability, data quality, lineage, and governance.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide architectural leadership to define technical standards.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• 8+ years of data engineering experience with deep expertise in SQL, data modeling, and large-scale processing.
• Proven experience designing and operationalizing production-ready GenAI and RAG pipelines.
• Strong programming skills in Python and hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake).
• Experience with vector and graph databases, including design and optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
