What you will do

• Plan and engineer outside plant fiber optic networks for utility sites.
• Design aerial and underground fiber routes including OPGW and ADSS cables.
• Oversee permitting, rights-of-way, and compliance with NESC standards.
• Design and optimize point-to-point microwave radio links and path surveys.
• Plan telecommunications facilities including towers, shelters, and power backup systems.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and engineering design packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in OSP fiber optic network design or microwave engineering.
• Proficiency in GIS software like ArcGIS and CAD tools like AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of industry standards including NESC, NEC, and Telcordia.
• Familiarity with packet-based transport networks and TDM systems.
• Must be able to work onsite in New Orleans, Louisiana.
