TL;DR

Head of Finance (Chief Control Office): Leading and developing the control environment for Non-Financial Risk within the Finance division with an accent on operational resilience, cyber security, and data governance. Location: Must be based in the UK with a hybrid work pattern requiring at least 40% time in the office (Edinburgh, Bristol, or Halifax).

Salary: £116,535 - £137,100

What you will do

  • Set the vision and lead the Finance control agenda to ensure robust risk frameworks.
  • Champion a culture of proactive risk management and clear ownership across Finance teams.
  • Strengthen connectivity between Finance, Risk, and wider Group governance forums.
  • Oversee regulatory and control delivery including SOX compliance and operational resilience.
  • Lead a high-performing team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Shape the evolution of control environments toward automated and AI-enabled capabilities.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the UK and able to work from office sites in Edinburgh, Bristol, or Halifax.
  • Strong finance background with significant experience in risk, controls, or financial governance.
  • Proven experience leading governance and oversight in large, complex financial organizations.
  • Technical understanding of Sarbanes Oxley compliance, OpenPages, and operational risk.
  • Track record of leading large, distributed teams and driving cultural change.
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience influencing at the executive level.
