Senior Java Software Engineer (Financial Markets)

Location: Katowice, Poland (Zabrska 19); readiness to travel to Belgium required

Salary: 9,600–16,000 PLN for Engineer III or 13,000–22,000 PLN for Engineer IV

What you will do

• Design and develop robust Java backend services exposed through REST APIs.
• Build and improve platforms supporting the full derivatives trading lifecycle, from client quote requests through pricing and booking to risk management.
• Improve architecture, scalability, performance, reliability, resilience, and CI/CD infrastructure.
• Collaborate with business experts, traders, and quants to deliver complex financial-market features.
• Apply engineering practices such as automated testing and maintainable system design.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure long-term system stability.

Requirements

• MSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade software.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and concurrency.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Git, and SQL.
• Ability to build modular, testable, and maintainable systems with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English and readiness to travel to Belgium are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of equity derivatives or trading concepts.
• Experience in financial markets or fintech environments.
• Familiarity with market data providers and APIs such as LSEG/RFA or Bloomberg B-Pipe.
