What you will do

  • Take full ownership of the end-to-end data platform roadmap, from raw event ingress to reporting delivery.
  • Audit and optimize the GCP-native architecture to improve observability, data quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain core platform components using Go, including ingress collectors and Pub/Sub processors.
  • Establish engineering standards for documentation, code reviews, and testing.
  • Collaborate with Product and Leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of AI-native engineering practices, using coding agents for refactoring and incident analysis.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data or Platform Engineering in production environments.
  • Solid proficiency in Go (Golang) is required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL).
  • Strong SQL skills and analytical data modeling experience.
  • Practical experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.
  • Fluent German (C1) required; good English for technical collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with SQLMesh or similar dbt-style orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Protobuf or comparable schema definition frameworks.
  • Interest in web analytics or digital audience measurement standards (IVW, OEWA).
  • Experience with AI coding assistants like Claude Code or Codex.
