TL;DR

Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing): Ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment in a manufacturing facility with an accent on planned preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis. Focus on reducing downtime, performing root cause analysis, and implementing continuous improvement projects.

Location: Must be based in or be able to commute to Derry, Northern Ireland

What you will do

  • Develop and execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring technical issues.
  • Support continuous improvement, TPM, and 5S initiatives across the site.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and calibration documentation.
  • Liaise with OEMs and specialist contractors and manage spare parts inventory.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Location: Must be based in Derry, Northern Ireland

Nice to have

  • Experience with CNC, automated manufacturing equipment, Punch, or Press Brake machinery.
  • Knowledge of TPM, PPM systems, and CMMS software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
