Mechanical Maintenance Technician (2 Shift)

TL;DR

Mechanical Maintenance Technician (2 Shift): Diagnosing, fault finding, and repairing medium/heavy industrial plant and machinery in a cable manufacturing site with an accent on preventative maintenance checks and reliability improvements. Focus on developing modifications, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, welding, rigging, and high-pressure steam maintenance.

Location: Onsite at Wrexham Industrial Estate, UK (2 shift roster: rotating Days 7am-4pm/1:30pm and Afternoons 1:30pm-10pm, Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week)

What you will do

• Diagnose, fault find, and repair medium/heavy industrial plant and machinery.
• Complete preventative maintenance checks and inspections.
• Develop and implement modifications to improve plant and machinery reliability.
• Work collaboratively with manufacturing and maintenance teams.
• Communicate effectively and adhere to health & safety priorities.
• Lift and handle components using appropriate equipment and techniques, including overtime as needed.

Requirements

• Time served with EITB/equivalent Certificate of Craftsmanship.
• Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Skills in welding, brazing, and rigging unbalanced loads.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, safety awareness, and machinery guarding legislation.
• High pressure steam maintenance experience.
• Minimum BTEC ONC level in Mechanical Engineering; ability to read technical drawings and use MS Office.
