Location: Must be based in Manchester (On-site)

Salary: £47,000–£54,000

What you will do

  • Perform routine maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns on wafer-fab systems.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Optimize maintenance procedures using KPIs and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Update equipment histories and maintain compliance via the factory MES platform.
  • Adhere to strict health and safety directives during all repair activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external specialists to ensure operational continuity.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work a 7-7 shift pattern (4 on 4 off, including nights).
  • Completed mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
  • Educated to a minimum of C&G / ONC standard.
  • Proven experience in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage own workload.
  • Desire to progress into a specialist Equipment Engineer role.

Nice to have

  • Experience with vacuum, pneumatic, or actuation systems.
  • Previous exposure to the semiconductor industry.
