What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize .NET backend services, REST APIs, and MS SQL Server architectures.
• Define and own the API strategy, including design standards, versioning, security, and cross-team contracts.
• Establish and uphold team practices for agentic-IDE development (Cursor or similar), including review standards for AI-generated code.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality features.
• Lead and mentor junior and intermediate developers through pairing and feedback to raise the engineering bar.
• Monitor production health, debug complex issues, and drive fixes for instability or regressions.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada.
• 7+ years of experience with .NET and other object-oriented programming languages.
• Expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, WebAPIs, and MS SQL Server (T-SQL).
• Deep experience owning RESTful API design and scaling at an enterprise level.
• Proven track record of using agentic coding IDEs (like Cursor) and setting team standards for AI code.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6) and version control using Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or cloud-native tooling (containers, observability).
• Prior experience with fitness/wellness products or multi-tenant SaaS.
• Experience designing and operating third-party API integrations at scale.
• General familiarity with a modern TypeScript stack.
