What you will do

• Independently own and extend legacy billing surfaces including VB6 COM components and classic ASP operator pages.
• Partner with core-engine owners to manage shared interfaces and validate changes during month-end cycles.
• Reverse-document and add safety tests to high-risk modules like rate-aggregation and jurisdiction-specific tax procedures.
• Maintain and build the full legacy estate, including licensed-dependency report DLLs.
• Plan and execute the migration of fragile legacy surfaces to modern architectures.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Strong expertise in VB6, COM/COM+ interop, classic ASP, VBScript, T-SQL, and ASP.NET WebForms.
• High level of English proficiency required.
• Proven track record of decoding and documenting undocumented legacy code.
• Experience working with active code owners on shared critical-path components.
• Strong instincts for safety-of-change, including parallel-run validation and rollback planning.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with regulated or financial billing calculations.
• Experience leading modernization or strangler-fig migrations.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, IIS, and Task Scheduler operations.
