Manufacturing Engineering (Steel)

Location: Madrid, Spain; onsite role with approximately 50% international and domestic travel.

What you will do

• Provide manufacturing feasibility input and DFM/DFMA recommendations from product concept through design release.
• Drive industrialization and supplier readiness for steel components and assemblies, including prototypes, supplier trials, factory validations, and production ramps.
• Lead manufacturing technology, tooling, automation, inspection, value-engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Define process flows, manufacturing risk assessments, inspection methods, work instructions, packaging requirements, and ramp-readiness deliverables.
• Review and implement engineering changes through the PLM system and ensure controlled deployment at suppliers.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier, manufacturing, and field issues using 8D, 5-Why, and Pareto methods.

Requirements

• Fluent English and Spanish, written and spoken, are mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 10 years of relevant manufacturing engineering or industrialization experience with steel components and assemblies.
• At least 5 years of experience in DFM, steel manufacturing processes, or steel machinery, including machinery or equipment CAPEX projects.
• At least 5 years of experience serving large OEM customers in renewable energy, automotive, consumer electronics, consumer goods, or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, including roll forming, stamping, welding, casting, laser cutting, machining, coating, finishing, assembly, and automation.
• Experience with supplier-facing engineering, PLM-based change management, engineering drawings, SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.

Nice to have

• SSGB, PMP, Lean Manufacturing, Journeyman, or other industry certifications.
• Experience with domestic and offshore Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
• Solar-tracker experience and the ability to develop and standardize new manufacturing processes.
