What you will do

• Lead interdisciplinary teams to decompose system functions and behaviors into actionable engineering requirements and specifications.
• Develop metrics to evaluate the performance of components and subsystems in both lab and field environments.
• Conduct trade studies to optimize design for safety, performance, and cost, negotiating between hardware and software solutions.
• Execute structured root-cause analysis to resolve complex failures involving multiple engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate with V&V engineers to define verification and validation plans ensuring a safe autonomous product.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or an equivalent engineering field.
• 12+ years of experience in the design and analysis of complex electromechanical and/or robotic systems.
• Expertise in systems engineering, including requirements decomposition and verification & validation.
• Experience in data analysis using probability and statistical techniques.
• Hands-on experience with the testing and debugging of electromechanical systems.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Redwood City, CA.

Nice to have

• M.S. or Ph.D. in an engineering field.
• Experience in automotive, medical, aerospace, or robotics industries.
• Specialization in autonomous systems and mobile robotics.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
