What you will do
- Process client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, and transfers accurately.
- Maintain trust and client accounts in strict accordance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal controls.
- Perform daily banking reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Execute month-end reconciliations for bank, client, and suspense accounts.
- Collaborate with UK-based fee earners and finance teams to resolve queries and provide financial information.
- Maintain comprehensive digital and physical audit trails and financial records.
Requirements
- Legal right to live and work in South Africa (proof required)
- 2-5 years of experience as a senior bookkeeper or accountant to balance sheet.
- BCom Accounting or an equivalent finance qualification.
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and trust accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
- Alignment with UK business hours and public holiday schedules
Nice to have
- Familiarity with UK Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounting Rules.
- Experience with UK legal finance or international clients.
- Experience with legal practice management or ERP platforms.
