What you will do

• Design high-level system architectures for instruments, including PCBA functions, power schemes, and clocking.
• Perform board-level circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
• Collaborate with quantum engineers to define system requirements and design solutions.
• Lead hardware bring-up, verification, and testing in coordination with firmware and software teams.
• Manage technical relationships with contract manufacturers and drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) strategies.
• Mentor team members in hardware design best practices.

Requirements

• Must be based in Boulder, Colorado
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in board-level analog and digital circuit design.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout.
• Experience with the full design cycle from concept to fabrication and bring-up.
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python for data acquisition and test automation.

Nice to have

• RF front-end and high-speed ADC/DAC design experience.
• Familiarity with multi-gigabit serial transceiver design and high-speed memory interfaces.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Familiarity with MicroTCA or PXIe pluggable instrument standards.
