What you will do

• Advise the team on pragmatic technical approaches to ensure engineering excellence and developer happiness.
• Architect scalable web APIs, component libraries, and backend systems to meet roadmap goals.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Design teams to solve high-impact technical challenges.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, tech spec reviews, and promotion of software development best practices.
• Identify and resolve system-wide performance bottlenecks.
• Contribute as a primary individual contributor to deliver critical customer-facing projects.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building high-performance web applications with outstanding UX.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, and Go (highly preferred).
• Extensive experience with a test-driven development (TDD) approach.
• Experience with relational databases and key-value stores.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale modernization of legacy systems.
• Must be located in Canada or the United States.
