What you will do

• Build accessible, performant, and scalable frontend and backend features using Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript.
• Write and maintain 100% automated test coverage for all delivered features.
• Integrate with VA APIs and backend services to ensure secure and accurate data rendering.
• Monitor application performance using tools like Datadog and triage incidents according to severity.
• Participate in pair programming, peer reviews, and blameless post-mortems to promote engineering excellence.
• Support the migration and retirement of legacy systems while ensuring continuity of content.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with in-depth knowledge in front end and back end technology stacks.
• 3+ years of recent experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• 1+ year of recent experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with secure development best practices and Zero Trust principles.

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native and AI-assisted development tools.
• Background in health-related services or FHIR standards.
• Professional experience delivering software within federal agencies.
• Prior contributions to open-source projects.
