Molecular Technician

TL;DR

Molecular Technician (MedTech): Assisting with molecular laboratory processes and clinical specimen testing under direct supervision to support cancer diagnostics. Focus on maintaining laboratory quality standards, equipment operation, and strict adherence to SOPs in a BSL-1/BSL-2 environment.

Location: Must be based in San Diego, California (Onsite)

Salary: $25.30 – $28.60 per hour

What you will do

• Assist with molecular genetic testing on clinical specimens following established SOPs.
• Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and inventory of materials and supplies.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control activities.
• Support sample processing across multiple workflows to meet turnaround times.
• Complete administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and spreadsheet quality control.
• Immediately report any specimen processing issues to supervisors.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Diego, CA for this onsite role.
• Associate’s degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological sciences, or medical technology.
• 1+ year of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Ability to work in a BSL-1/BSL-2 environment and lift up to 25 pounds.
