Location: Based in San Mateo, CA. Hybrid: onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

What you will do

• Steward the development of the Luau layer and associated libraries/frameworks for the Roblox app.
• Optimize performance for diverse hardware, including low-end Android devices and TVs.
• Improve developer experience and integrate agentic product development to accelerate feature delivery.
• Align the app's Luau layer with the technologies used by Roblox creators.
• Mentor engineers across all levels, from junior to principal.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in robust, cross-platform software frameworks and architectures.
• Expertise in complex cross-platform codebases using TypeScript, React Native, or Flutter.
• Deep knowledge of applications combining scripting languages with native modules.
• Strong experience with modern frontend web architecture and complex state management (React).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Must have United States work authorization (certain visa categories and H-1B sponsorship may not be supported).
