Staff Software Engineer (Backend, IAM)

TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (Backend, IAM): Developing and architecting identity access management solutions and SaaS services with an accent on security, cloud-native infrastructure, and automation. Focus on designing secure APIs, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines, and serving as a subject matter expert for identity strategy.

Location: Hybrid role requiring on-site presence at least 3 times a week in Austin, TX, Mountain View, CA, or Warren, MI.

What you will do

• Design and develop security-focused software solutions, tools, and automation frameworks.
• Integrate security protocols into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to embed security into system architecture.
• Conduct code reviews and threat modeling to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Build and maintain systems for monitoring, logging, and alerting on security events.
• Develop and maintain APIs and microservices supporting security operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model at specified US locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with IAM products like EntraID or SailPoint.
• Exposure to partner collaboration and external identity architectures.
• Experience with Databricks or Microsoft/Google cloud products.
• Experience with CASB security integrations.
• Experience with front-end application development.
