Staff+ Software Engineer, GRC Platform

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office attendance.

What you will do

• Design data pipelines that aggregate risk, control, and asset information across the technology stack.
• Build integrations with cloud infrastructure, identity management, HRIS, ticketing, version control, and CI/CD systems for automated evidence collection and continuous validation.
• Translate policies and regulatory requirements into policy-as-code, automated checks, and continuous monitoring.
• Design agentic workflows using Claude for evidence analysis, audit responses, and control monitoring.
• Develop real-time dashboards and reporting for engineers, executives, and external auditors.
• Own architecture, reliability, data integrity, and end-to-end delivery while partnering with Security, IT, Infrastructure, Privacy Engineering, Legal, Finance, and product engineering.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building backend systems, data pipelines, or internal platforms, ideally at a technical lead level.
• Strong understanding of system integrations, data flows, schemas, data quality, and failure points.
• Depth in integration engineering or data infrastructure, with working fluency in the other area.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages, plus production experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure-as-code.
• Ability to own design, deployment, operations, reliability, and data integrity independently.
• Experience building with LLMs as system components, including agentic workflows and output evaluation.

Nice to have

• Experience with privacy engineering, data governance, fintech, healthcare, or trust and safety.
• Production experience with LLM-based or agentic automation.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP, or GRC platforms such as ServiceNow, Vanta, Drata, or OneTrust.
• Experience at high-growth startups.
