What you will do

• Combine hands-on engineering (40-60%) with people leadership (40-60%) for Java engineers across multiple squads.
• Design, build, and maintain Java 17+ Spring Boot microservices and drive the decomposition of legacy monolithic middleware.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and testing strategies across squads.
• Lead, coach, and develop engineers, providing structured feedback and supporting career growth.
• Design REST APIs, domain models, and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Drive system reliability, scalability, and improvements in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in backend development for enterprise or distributed systems.
• Proven experience as a technical lead, senior engineer, or people lead.
• Strong expertise in Java (17+) and Spring Boot.
• Deep understanding of REST API design, microservices patterns, and event-driven architecture (Kafka).
• Experience with Docker, OpenShift, and Azure DevOps.
• Ability to drive engineering accountability and team performance in Agile environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in core banking, payments, or lending domains.
• Exposure to legacy system modernization.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
