TL;DR

Chief Technology Officer (USA, Canada, or UK) (AI/Cloud): Own enterprise technology strategy and lead the engineering organization across AI Engineering, Reverse Engineering R&D, and IT Support with an accent on agentic AI systems, cloud-native platforms, and applied machine learning. Focus on scaling data-intensive B2B/SaaS engineering, deploying LLMs/vector databases/semantic search in production, and aligning technology investment with business outcomes while partnering on security, AI governance, and platform reliability.

Location: On-site at one of the office locations in Ottawa, San Jose, Denver, or Washington, DC, or remote in Canada, USA, or UK. Travel up to 25% may be required.

What you will do

• Define and own enterprise technology strategy aligned with product vision and revenue objectives, and lead technology investment planning across AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms.
• Oversee AI Engineering, Reverse Engineering R&D, and IT Support; set enterprise-wide standards for quality, consistency, and technical excellence.
• Lead applied AI and R&D agenda, including development and production deployment of machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, vector databases, semantic search, and domain-specific AI models.
• Drive build-buy-partner decisions and provide technical due diligence support for M&A and strategic partnerships.
• Partner with Product and Commercial leadership to align engineering capacity and delivery cadence with go-to-market timelines.
• Lead AI Policy & Governance and partner with Security & AI Governance to meet cybersecurity, data governance, and AI threat management requirements.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role (SVP Engineering, CTO, or equivalent).
• Proven success scaling engineering organizations and technology platforms in data-intensive B2B or SaaS environments.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, data architecture, platform engineering, and modern software development practices.
• Experience building and leading high-performing geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Experience with AI/ML platforms, large-scale data products, or content intelligence systems.
• Must be located in Canada, USA, or UK (on-site at Ottawa, San Jose, Denver, or Washington, DC, or remote within those countries).
