What you will do

• Create, validate, and maintain power systems network models and associated methodologies.
• Design, develop, and test robust algorithms to meet project requirements.
• Analyze field data to troubleshoot and enhance existing models and algorithms.
• Act as a subject matter expert on UK distribution power systems within multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate complex methodologies clearly to implementation teams.
• Manage time and priorities across multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Power Systems, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related numerate discipline.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Lisburn, UK.
• Strong understanding of electric power distribution, load behaviors, and time-series demand modeling.
• Proven experience performing steady-state or transient power systems studies.
• Strong numerical analysis, engineering mathematics, and statistics skills.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems using creative solutions.

Nice to have

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Power Systems or related field.
• At least 2 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of the UK distribution sector (EHV, HV, LV) and industry standards like ERECs.
• Experience with power systems modeling software such as PandaPower, NEPLAN, or PSCAD.
• Proficiency in Python development and signal processing techniques.
• Practical experience with version control tools like Git or SVN.
