Location: North Sydney, Hybrid. Candidates must have Australian full working rights

What you will do

  • Lead business and legal affairs support for the BritBox Australia and Global Channels & Streaming ANZ businesses.
  • Draft and negotiate content acquisition, app distribution, and a wide range of general commercial agreements.
  • Advise on regulatory matters relevant to broadcast/streaming media, including consumer law and privacy/data protection.
  • Manage music licensing and provide support on key channel carriage deals.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance to senior leaders to support the ANZ growth strategy.
  • Conduct internal training for stakeholders on regulatory and privacy matters.

Requirements

  • Solicitor or barrister qualified in Australia.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating content acquisition and distribution agreements.
  • Experience in general commercial arrangements and intellectual property matters.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory systems within which broadcasters, producers, and distributors operate.
  • Ability to clarify complex legal issues for non-lawyers and make sound commercial recommendations.

Nice to have

  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • At least 3 years of experience specifically within the broadcast or streaming media entertainment industry.
  • Prior in-house experience at a media company.
