Workshop Technician (R&D)

What you will do

• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to turn product concepts into functional prototypes.
• Design and produce tools, jigs, and fixtures using CAD/CAM software to support assembly.
• Operate 3-axis CNC milling machines, manual lathes, and milling machines to exact specifications.
• Interpret sketches and technical drawings to fabricate parts from diverse materials including steel, aluminium, and wood.
• Manage workshop safety, inventory, and equipment maintenance in coordination with the Workshop Manager.
• Coordinate with Far East suppliers for prototype parts and sample procurement.

Requirements

• Must be based in London, UK
• Minimum 5+ years of practical experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and CAM software (CAMWorks preferred).
• Strong experience with manual lathes, milling machines, and 3-axis CNC operations.
• Minimum Level 3 qualification as an Engineering or Machining Technician.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating within a small team and across the business.
