What you will do

• Lead technical direction for companion app features and systems using React Native.
• Translate ambiguous product goals into clear technical plans alongside product, design, and backend teams.
• Own quality, performance, and platform integrations for production mobile app releases.
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical decision-making and engineering practices across the team.
• Implement and guide the adoption of generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) in development workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in mobile app or complex product engineering.
• 5+ years of professional React Native experience with deep knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience creating native modules or platform-specific integrations using Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, or C++.
• Expertise in mobile performance profiling using Xcode Instruments, Android Studio, or Perfetto.
• Strong understanding of mobile networking, push notifications, and app lifecycle.
• Must be based in Canada or the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Expo framework for React Native.
• Professional background as a full-stack or backend developer.
• Expertise in building CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions automations.
• Knowledge of Unity Game Engine and C#.
• Experience with mobile release processes and app store submissions.
