TL;DR

Sr Staff Systems Engineer (Active Directory/Windows): Managing and securing the enterprise Active Directory environment and Windows server infrastructure with an accent on OS hardening, vulnerability management, and identity and access management. Focus on securing directory services against evolving threats and automating complex administrative tasks via PowerShell.

Location: Onsite in San Jose; must be able to work in-person Monday through Thursday

What you will do

• Provide administration and support for Microsoft Active Directory environments (2016/2019+), including version upgrades and domain controller setup.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to ensure secure and consistent system configurations.
• Manage core network services including DNS, DHCP, and authentication policies/silos (gMSA).
• Perform regular security audits and cleanup of AD objects, group memberships, and permissions.
• Administer Windows Server environments, implementing security hardening and managing patch deployment based on risk analysis.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate auditing, remediation, and daily administrative tasks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience supporting Active Directory and Windows server environments.
• Bachelors Degree in an Engineering or Technical field.
• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and auditing.
• In-depth knowledge of Kerberos, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Windows Server administration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft O365 environments.
• Familiarity with security best practices for hybrid identity environments.
