What you will do

• Own the architecture and roadmap of Active Directory, including domains, forests, trusts, and Group Policy strategy.
• Administer core Windows Server roles (DNS, DHCP, PKI) and establish build, patching, and hardening standards.
• Manage hybrid identity synchronization via Microsoft Entra ID and enforce MFA and conditional access policies.
• Lead senior-level administration of the Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and security controls.
• Design and operate VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter environments, managing resource strategy and capacity planning.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and lead infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of system administration experience with expert hands-on Active Directory and Windows Server administration in production.
• Deep knowledge of Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and core Windows Server roles.
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 / Office 365 and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
• Proven experience leading migrations, infrastructure projects, and disaster recovery planning.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Syracuse, NY.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a security-focused mindset.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as SC-300, AZ-104, or VCP-DCV.
• Advanced automation skills using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
• Experience with Intune, Zero Trust, and security/compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
