Performance Leader - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite, Buffalo, NY; 2nd shift at the East Aurora, NY location.

Salary: $85,000–$115,000 annually, plus a 10% shift differential.

Develops custom hydraulic and electromechanical precision motion-control solutions for customers including flight simulation and oil and gas exploration.

What you will do

• Lead operations across the Machine Shop and Assembly & Test Departments, reporting to the Production Manager.
• Define, implement, and measure short-term department objectives aligned with the company strategy.
• Lead, train, develop, motivate, evaluate, and counsel technicians, machinists, and other department personnel.
• Coordinate support groups and maintain productivity, manufacturing schedules, delivery commitments, accurate records, and employee relations.
• Implement lean and other improvement activities to increase profitability, productivity, and capacity while reducing costs, lead times, and inventory.
• Investigate production variances, material deviations, equipment and safety issues, and initiate corrective or more efficient manufacturing methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience plus five years of directly related production experience with prior leadership responsibilities, or an associate’s degree in a related discipline plus ten years of directly related production experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of functional manufacturing activities and supporting departments.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication.
• Ability to define and prioritize operational goals.
• Proven ability to build strong teamwork within the department and across supporting functions.
• Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.
