What you will do

• Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous learning.
• Set the technical vision and oversee architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
• Drive the execution of key initiatives from conception through delivery, aligning with strategic business goals.
• Partner with product, design, and operations teams to optimize the member experience and business priorities.
• Establish engineering practices that support high velocity, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD.
• Inspire the team to apply innovative solutions to the toughest challenges in healthcare technology.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering with 3+ years in a formal leadership or management role.
• Must be based in the US.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven success in hiring, coaching, and scaling high-performing teams, ideally within a startup environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across distributed teams and time zones.

Nice to have

• Solid background in Data Engineering and managing large data sets.
• Advanced skills in React, React Native, GCP, and Postgres.
• Experience building and deploying machine learning services.
• Previous startup experience, particularly as a former founder or early engineering hire.
• Familiarity with health technologies such as Oura, Whoop, Apple Watch, and CGMs.
