What you will do
- Design mechanical systems for water/wastewater projects, including pumping, surge, and piping systems through calculations and system modeling.
- Perform pressure drop/head calculations, piping sizing, equipment sizing, and transient analysis for hydraulic systems.
- Develop engineering work products such as P&IDs, mechanical arrangement drawings, and equipment/piping/valve specifications.
- Coordinate design work with other disciplines and project stakeholders; review manufacturer/contractor submittals for conformance.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to select technically acceptable design solutions.
- Support construction package development and ensure compliance with specifications and project schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) plus at least 1 year of related experience.
- Experience designing Clean Utilities (Steam, RODI, WFI) from concept to completion with improved operational efficiency and reduced operating costs.
- Experience using data evaluation techniques, CFD simulation, hydraulic analysis, energy balance, and modeling to enhance process system performance.
- Experience developing construction packages, P&IDs, and specifications with clear communication across cross-disciplined teams.
- Experience designing process utilities gas systems (CCA, CO2, LN2) for complex engineering projects in compliance with industry and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience with Bluebeam, CAD, and ANSYS Fluent; must have work authorization in the United States that does not require employer visa sponsorship.
