What you will do

• Define and lead large-scale initiatives to improve backend development systems, frameworks, and shared libraries.
• Design long-term technical solutions to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability across all backend services.
• Guide the evolution of core developer tooling, including static analysis and service scaffolding.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, and product engineering teams to execute platform improvements.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on system design and development practices.

Requirements

• Must be based in Toronto and able to work from the office at least 3 days per week.
• Extensive experience building and scaling backend systems using Go and Python.
• Deep knowledge of backend frameworks such as Django or comparable Go systems.
• Proven ability to design internal platforms, developer tooling, or shared infrastructure.
• Demonstrated leadership in complex technical projects and influencing engineering direction across multiple teams.
